This is derived from bitumen that has already been cooled, and to which special additives have been added. In this form, it can be transported to another site, where the sand and stone are added to create the asphalt. It does not, therefore, have to be located at a hot asphalt plant. The manufacture of the bitumen and the production of the asphalt are thus separate functions. This is a major advantage, as POLYSOL can be produced wherever sand and stone are available. The other major benefit is that the special additive in our bitumen allows the asphalt to “marry” with the surrounding road material. The additive also allows the asphalt to remain soft and pliable before application, never getting brittle and cracking. POLYSOL will remain fixed in the pothole for a period of more than 5 years.
