Ease of use - Cost Efficiency - Durability!
For many years, hot asphalt has been used for the sealing of cracks and filling of potholes in the repair of road networks. Because of the many disadvantages to hot asphalt repairs, various types of “cold asphalt” products have been developed to replace the use of hot asphalt. Cold asphalt products, as the name implies, do not require heat to keep the product soft and workable whilst being transported to the repair area and can be stored and shipped at room temperature. The subsequent repair of cracks and potholes in road surfaces can also be done without the additional need of a costly heat source.
The characteristics that determine the success or failure of a pothole and crack filler are: Ease of use, cost-effectiveness and durability.
